Life Story

Funerals & celebrations of life

Making remembrance personal, whether that’s a crematorium service, a burial or a woodland farewell. Dignity and celebration are not opposites, and I’ll help your family hold both.

Love Story

Weddings & renewal of vows

Any venue, any shape, any length, written around who you actually are as a couple rather than a script somebody else wrote. Stately home, barn, village hall or a beautiful field, it’s yours to choose.

New Story

Naming ceremonies

A warm, welcoming way to mark the arrival of a child into a family, whatever shape that family takes, and to give the people who’ll help raise them something to promise out loud.

A little about me

People have been telling me things since I was small

I’m a storyteller by nature and by training. I read English at university, spent thirty years in corporate life as a leader, coach, facilitator, trainer and public speaker, listening to people and getting the words exactly right for the person about to hear them.

Outside of work and somewhere along the way, I became the friend everyone confides in. I’m calm, unflappable and genuinely curious, and I’ve never once been shocked by anything anyone has told me.

Celebrancy kept finding me until I answered the call and qualified.

Why me

Warmth and a Safe Pair of Hands, In Equal Measure

Plenty of celebrants are lovely. Fewer have run large operations, trained teams and stood up in front of a room as an MC for three decades. That background is why nothing on your day will ruffle me.

I plan in obsessive detail

So that on the day you don’t have to think about a single thing. Timings, running order, who stands where, what happens if the heavens open.

I write, properly

Words are my thing. Your ceremony will be written, not assembled from a template, and it will never be written by AI.

I hold every belief with respect

I was raised Christian, I identify now as Pagan and I’m a Reiki healer. Faith, no faith, several faiths in one family, it all belongs and I’ll blend it with joy and without judgement.

I’m at my best with the complicated ones

Blended families, multi-faith gatherings, second marriages, outdoor ceremonies with a lot of moving parts.

It all belongs.

Testimonials

In Their Words, Not Mine

Thank you really doesn’t express how grateful we are that you were the celebrant for Mary’s funeral. Your support, gentle guidance and understanding were much appreciated by all the family. The service was lovely and a beautiful tribute to Mary.

I recently attended a funeral in which Jane officiated. Jane delivered the service beautifully, and without fault. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

Where I work

The Land of Squires and Spires

I work across Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Cambridgeshire, and I don’t think there’s a better part of the country for a ceremony. Northamptonshire alone has stately homes, ancient village halls, barns and countryside in every direction, and both counties are famously easy to reach from anywhere in the UK.

If it means something to you, I’ll be there. I also take a small number of destination weddings in Italy each year, working alongside my niece Emma, a wedding planner based on Lake Garda.

Let’s talk

So, what are you planning?

Tell me a little about it. First conversations are free, unhurried and come with absolutely no obligation, and they’re usually the point at which people relax.
